昨日は前から言っていた、新宿の「宝塚大学」で講演。
今度はひとりで話すのではなく、となりに司会進行役がいて、相方もいるという状況だったので、聴衆を見ながら話す余裕もあり、普段と同じペースで話すことができた。
聴衆というほどの数がいなかったのもよかったのか(笑)20人くらい。
電子出版関係かと思ったが、エンタメ方面に進みたい学生に、就職の心構えを、という話だったり、基本的に就職を控えて進路で悩んでいる学生のためのサジェスチョンがあれば、という話になった。
今は厳しいですよ。ほんと。
ゲームもアニメも漫画も、そういう商売は世の中の景気がよければいいんですが、悪くなると最初に絞られていく余剰分みたいなもので、じゃあ今日はちょっと奮発してお外でご飯しましょう、といってデニーズいくような外食費ですよ。外食産業が落ちているのもよくわかりますね、なくなっても普通の人は困らない。
創作物はどんどんフリー化しているので、面白いものを作れば話題になるかもしれないけれど、それを職業とすることは、より難しくなっている。
なので、本職とするのはやめて、別の職業につきながら趣味でやる「同人誌作家」になればいいのではないか、というような話をしましたが、じゃあどこに就職したらいいんでしょうか。と言われるとそれも困ってしまう。
公務員になりましょうって言っても簡単になれないわけで、いっそ就職なんてしなくても、という生き方はやっぱり厳しい。
まあ、就職がゴールではなく、いい就職ができたやったー、と飲んだくれているとあっという間に40代で、いきなりリストラ、みたいなこともありますから、なんにしても楽な道はなくて、答えもいろいろで、楽しく生きていってほしいですね、うんうん。
講演の後の懇親会では、ゲーム業界のクリエーターや編集やデザイナーさんたちとバカ話。あー、ひさびさの業界トークは面白いなー。もう関係ないしな(笑)
あっという間に終電近くになったので、バタバタ帰ったが、すぐそばでポスペの八谷さんが一夜限りのバーのマスターとなり、知り合いがホストをやっていたのを、電車に乗ってから思い出した。
盛り上がっただろうに、失敗した。
ただそしたら朝までコースで、今日は仕事にならなかったので、結果オーライとしておこう。
